Lion I’s
After almost a
decade away from the Central Coast music scene, the original members of
Lion I’s will be reuniting for Rock the Cure 08. Coming
from as far away as San Francisco, Texas, and even Florida, the band members
will be cranking out those energetic reggae-influenced tunes that earned
them a huge following in the nineties. Lion I’s is charged up about
playing together again and ready to pack the dance floor with their thumpin’
rhythms.
Spencer the Gardener
Rock the
Cure 08 is thrilled to be hosting a rare Ventura appearance by
Spencer the Gardener for the October 4 event. After almost 20 years
together, Spencer the Gardener is still creating new sounds with
their mix of Latin-influenced, Surf Mariachi, get-up-and-dance music. All
those familiar with the band know to wear their dancing shoes that
night...it will be next to impossible to not to hit the floor and cut the
rug!
The Jimmy Mooks
Opening for
Rock the Cure 08 show will be The Jimmy Mooks, the
improv comedy team that imparts genre-bending wit with a keen eye for pop
culture and wicked historical reference. The Jimmy Mooks, named for a
scene in Martin Scorsese’s Mean Streets, are improv at its best,
promising hilarity and a laugh-‘til-you-cry romp through the ages.
